Open call for outreach activities in Stromboli and Vulcano

The call for outreach activities in Stromboli and Vulcano is now open : the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology has opened registrations to participate in the selection process that involves university students in the summer outreach activities of the INGV InfoPoints in the Aeolian Islands .
Also this year the INGV has started the procedure for the identification of the Universities that intend to have their students of the Departments of Science participate in the scientific dissemination activities at the two InfoPoints, already known as the INGV Information Center of Stromboli and the INGV Information Center "Marcello Carapezza" of Vulcano . These are centers designed to provide residents and tourists with information on Aeolian volcanism , on the risks associated with it and on the good civil protection practices to adopt in case of emergency : dynamic and interactive knowledge paths to discover the dynamics of volcanology and the geology of the volcanic lands that are destinations for hikers.
The students will be coordinated by experts from the Institute , gaining experience in the field in dissemination activities and taking advantage of a unique training opportunity. Attention to the correct dissemination of scientific results is in fact the fundamental element for the development of the culture of natural risks and prevention aimed at increasing citizen awareness. All the details are available on the Ingv website .
