Bologna raises its stakes. Milan are interested in Fabbian. And Lucumi remains on the fence. A meeting is possible today.

Bologna needs to raise money and tone down their squad. But their intention, especially after the first defeat and Immobile's injury, is to pursue their objectives without giving up key players. Take Lucumi , but also Fabbian : Bologna are putting up a front row for a central defender and midfielder, waiting to see what happens. But as the days go by, it will be harder to replace them, and the price is rising: especially for Fabbian. Roma, Napoli, and Fiorentina made inquiries about the midfielder this summer. Now, Milan are trying to make a move, with an offer of €12 million plus €3 million in bonuses in the hands of the player's agent. Bologna is saying no, at least for now. If he has to be sold, it must be for a price deemed off the market: €20-25 million, especially since to replace him, they would then have to go out and find a replacement with cash in hand.
The names are there: Nicolussi Caviglia (24) from Venezia, but competition is growing and in the last few hours Bologna have once again asked for news of Maurits Kjærgaard (22), a left-footed Danish player owned by Salzburg, whose price is around 10-12 million euros, a midfielder who can also be used as an attacking midfielder. Pobega and Ferguson can also be used as attacking midfielders, which is why Bologna, in addition to Nicolussi Caviglia, are aiming for Mandragora: but the latter was a starter and scored on his debut against Cagliari, a fact that suggests that Fiorentina might not let him go and not for Bologna, a direct competitor. Fabbian is not moving from Bologna's plans, unless an offer is made outside the market.
Lucumi hasn't budged from the plans either. However, Bologna is still waiting to see if the Colombian and his agents intend to up the ante and force the sale by taking legal action, invoking Article 17 of FIFA. If so, Bologna would have to evaluate their options, because in addition to a release with compensation, if Lucumi were to appeal and win, Bologna could be blocked from the transfer market for two years, as part of the penalties provided for in this type of case. A meeting is likely today between the management and the player's entourage, for whom Sunderland have made an offer of around €30 million, with a five-year deal worth €3 million net per season proposed for the centre-back, who would like to leave.
Having said that Bologna does not want to sell him, they cannot however fail to evaluate what to do: it is no coincidence that after the defeat against Roma they have had new contacts with Union Berlin for Diogo Leite (26), who is on his way out and has a year left on his contract. Galatasaray had made an interest in him, but they seem to have switched to other targets. Bologna have sounded out the waters for a figure of 8 million. We are in the final stages of the transfer market, the pressure is mounting. There is no shortage of offers, Bologna is trying to defend its best players and look for last minute reinforcements.
