Club World Cup. Real Madrid wins 3-2 against Borussia Dortmund and goes to the semi-finals

Real Madrid beat Borussia Dortmund 3-2 and join PSG in the semi-final of the Club World Cup. In New York, at the MetLife Stadium, goals from youth players Gonzalo and Fran Garcia and new arrival Mbappè were decisive in a match that saw Xabi Alonso's men finish with 10 men due to Huijsen's red card. The steps forward in terms of play were visible and the crowd appreciated them, with plenty of 'ole'' accompanying Real's possession in the first half. Madrid built and broke the deadlock in the 10th minute: Guler looked up and crossed into the center of the area, where Gonzalo Garcia was waiting to score his fourth goal in the competition. Borussia did not react and ten minutes later the blancos doubled their lead thanks to the two full-backs: Alexander-Arnold crossed from the right and found Fran Garcia, who anticipated Ryerson and scored the 2-0.

In the second half, Borussia fails to take control of the game. Real manages and applauds Modric and Mbappè, who take the place of Vinicius and Bellingham. In injury time, however, everything happens: Borussia closes the gap in the 93rd minute with Beier, but Mbappè brings Real back to +2 with a winning overhead kick assisted by the usual Guler. In the 95th minute, Huijsen commits a foul in the area on Guirassy: red card for the former Juve and Roma player and penalty. The Franco-Guinean does not miss from eleven meters and at the end it is Courtois who avoids the mockery of extra time with a miracle on Sabitzer. The semifinal between Real Madrid and Psg is scheduled for Wednesday 9 July at 21:00, again at the MetLife Stadium in New York.
