Doualla breaks the European Under 18 record: 11.21 in the 100m, the third fastest time ever by an Italian woman.

Kelly Doualla is overwhelming. A record in every race: in her debut for the Italian national team, the fifteen-year-old sprinter set the European Under-18 record in the 100 meters. She represented the national team for the first time in Skopje, at the European Youth Olympic Festival where she won the gold medal. The new continental record, clocked at 11.21 seconds, was achieved in zero wind: three hundredths of a second better than the previous record of 11.24 seconds held by Great Britain's Jodie Williams and Switzerland's Xenia Buri (second with 11.30 seconds). Last Tuesday in Brescia, Doualla set a personal best of 11.29 seconds, breaking the Italian U20 record; six days later, she's already improved that time by eight hundredths of a second.

Behind Dosso and Levorato

Even more impressive is the comparison at the national level: at fifteen, the Lombard athlete from Cus Pro Patria Milano is already the third fastest Italian athlete of all time, surpassed only by Zaynab Dosso (11.01) and Manuela Levorato (11.14). Within a week, she made her international debut (in Brescia) and donned the Italian national team jersey for the first time, with impressive results. Her chances for a spot in the 4x100 relay at the World Championships in Tokyo are increasingly strong.
