Fiorentina, the Midnight Coup. Kean, the hourglass is ticking: now the priority is to sell.

From Ikoné to Nzola, some of the Viola's surplus players
Florence, July 13, 2025 - Fiorentina hopes the weekend will pass without any major disruptions on the Moise Kean front. With just three days left until the deadline to activate the €52 million release clause, time is running out. The club is eagerly awaiting Wednesday, when—barring any surprises—it will be possible to concretely propose a contract renewal to the striker, a deal Pradè and Ferrari have been working on for weeks. The offer the Viola management intend to submit could exceed €4 million net per season, a figure made sustainable thanks in part to the tax benefits provided by the Growth Decree. This favorable regime would allow the club to limit the gross salary, making the investment more affordable.
Meanwhile, Kean is expected in Florence for the start of his summer training camp. In the background, Al Hilal have never really made an offer, while Manchester United continues to monitor the situation, ready to potentially make a move later, but only if Fiorentina dictates the price.
Starting Wednesday, with greater clarity on Kean's future, the rest of the Fiorentina transfer window is likely to open. After a brisk start, the transfer campaign has slowed down as the club awaits further clarification on the Azzurri's future.
There are still two or three signings on the agenda. The first concerns the right flank, where an alternative to Dodô is needed: the hottest name remains Pablo Maffeo from Mallorca. In midfield, a reliable playmaker is sought, regardless of the contract extension with Mandragora, now imminent. Asllani and Frendrup are popular, but the costs are high. And despite signs of closure in recent days, the Viola management could return to the fray for Bernabé as well.
Much will depend on the transfers, which are still stalled. One example is Nzola , who has admirers, but Pisa and Genoa have only come forward for a loan. For a permanent transfer—difficult at the moment—it will likely be necessary to look beyond Italy. The future of Terracciano is also fraught with tension. There's the option of Milan as a substitute for Maignan, who is tempting him. Otherwise, he could go to Cremonese or Empoli to become a starter. There are many players to sort out, from Ikoné to Sottil, including Sabiri, Infantino, Brekalo, Barak (who is hoping for a nod from Pioli), and even a handful of youngsters. The priority now is to trim the squad and reduce the wage bill.
