Good sports, support measures to be published in mid-November

Florence, November 8, 2025 - The approved program for the "2025 Sports Voucher" will be announced by mid-November. This is a support program (up to €200) for families designed by the city administration to ensure all children can participate in recreational and sports activities. The idea is to raise the ISEE bracket for next year to broaden the range of those eligible for it. "Sport," explains Letizia Perini , Councilor for Sport and Youth Policies for the City of Florence, "is an activity recognized for its educational and social value, and for promoting the physical and mental well-being that is essential for the growth of our children, as reaffirmed in Article 33 of our Constitution. However, at the national level, dedicated funding is still lacking. In response, with the new law on sport, sports clubs have been further penalized by unjustified increased costs that fall on families. As an administration, we have worked on free outdoor gyms with qualified instructors to supervise sports activities, and next year we intend to expand this service." Perini then added: "We are available to identify further concrete solutions to ensure that children never have to give up sports. The City of Florence is doing its part, and many clubs are working with us, which have long been waiving registration fees for families in need, along with, for example, the Compagnia di Babbo Natale. We hope that society as a whole will work together to allow our children to continue playing sports, which is not just fun, but above all an educational tool and an extraordinary socialization tool that must be protected at all costs."
