Green Run Vallombrosa: Record number of participants in the 12th edition

Reggello (Florence), July 27, 2025 – Vallombrosa enthusiastically welcomed the 12th edition of the Green Run Vallombrosa Trail , a 20-kilometer race that attracted over 250 competitive runners, joined by around a hundred participants on the shorter 10-kilometer course. The event, starting and finishing in the picturesque green meadow of Vallombrosa, also included the option of competing in a relay race. The race, which counts towards the 2025 UISP Trail Running Championship, wound 95% through the splendid biogenetic forest, reaching an altitude of 1,400 meters, on a route that offered participants passages of rare beauty, including the evocative one near the wind turbines.

The most spectacular moments were immortalized by the event's official photographer, Ets Regalami un sorriso . The organization was handled by the Gruppo Podisti Resco 1909 , which deployed nearly fifty volunteers along the route, responsible for logistics and safety. The "broom service" was also impeccable, responsible for closing the race by collecting any debris , including the marker tape, ensuring the course was returned to its original pristine condition.

The event also included a "race within a race," open to employees of the Iccrea banking group and Iccrea Group banks. The race was led by Paolo Bracaglia , director of BCC Credito Valdarno Fiorentino, who expressed his enthusiasm for the event's success. The president of the Resco Running Group, Fabrizio Bini , proudly highlighted the achievement of an all-time record number of runners: a tangible testament to the association's commitment to organizing a race that annually offers breathtaking scenery and authentic emotions.
