Lucca, 21 May 2025 – The fate of Lucchese will most likely be decided tomorrow, Thursday 22 May. After the salvation achieved on the field last Saturday against Sestri Levante, this morning (Wednesday 21 May) the bankruptcy hearing took place at the Court of Lucca before the bankruptcy judge Giorgia Maria Ricotti . The mayor of Lucca Mario Pardini , his deputy Fabio Barsanti , the auditor mayor Varetti and Stefano Grassi , representative of Affida, a company that in the previous session expressed its interest in acquiring the Rossoneri club, were present. The rescue plan is called “Affida”, which together with a fund from Bahrain would save Lucchese from its fourth bankruptcy in seventeen years. Jacopo Coletta and Francesco Fedato were present representing the team, while Benedetto Mancini, current owner of Lucchese, also participated in the video conference, asking for a further postponement which Judge Ricotti rejected. The judge has reserved the right to communicate her decision by tomorrow: in the event of bankruptcy, a bankruptcy trustee would be appointed and an immediate public auction would be held, in which Affida would also participate, having in the meantime presented its own project.
The last resort would be to start again from Serie D by acquiring the sports title of Ghiviborgo, which has currently frozen the negotiations with Viareggio. Of course, time is running out, because the salaries will have to be paid, after the League has called on the surety released at the beginning of the season by the Bulgarella Group, and all the documentation must be prepared by the sixth of June, the deadline for registration. Without forgetting that from this year the surety is seven hundred thousand euros. All steps that do not scare Stefano Grassi and his collaborators, who has already been working on this rescue plan for days, after having been the main sponsor of the team for two seasons. In this adventure Grassi would not be alone, but would be supported by some entrepreneurs from Lucca and by the Bahrain fund
. Meanwhile, among the Rossoneri fans, the expectation is growing to understand what the future of Lucchese will be, whether the fourth bankruptcy will arrive with the subsequent auction or the restart from Serie D. Mayor Pardini, after the hearing that lasted less than an hour, seemed optimistic, but now the ball is in Judge Ricotti's court, who should announce his decision tomorrow.
