Carrara, August 3, 2025 – Over 250 participants participated in the eighth edition of the Marble Race , a race valid for the Tuscan CSI mountain running championship. The fascinating and challenging course wound its way from the Ponti di Vara to the spectacular Fantiscritti quarry .
During the awards ceremony, a powerfully emotional moment touched everyone in attendance: the siren known as the "Mugnone," a long-standing symbol of mourning in the quarries, sounded in the silence in memory of Paolo Lambruschi , a worker who recently passed away. More than a few tears streamed down the faces of those present. This year, the event has also become the Paolo Lambruschi Memorial, in memory of those who lost their lives in an environment as evocative as it is dangerous.
The floating finish line, located just beneath the Avis inflatable, was dedicated to Paolo Lambruschi, who was also a blood donor during his lifetime. The organizers, ASD Strafossone , once again managed to offer runners a unique setting, amidst the marble and history of Carrara, making the event memorable from both a technical and emotional standpoint. Giorgio Malacarni , the driving force behind the organizing company, expressed his satisfaction: "We are delighted with the large turnout and the high technical level of the competing athletes."
ETS Regalami un sorriso , a now customary and invaluable presence in combining sport, memory, and solidarity, will be documenting the event with its photographs again this year.
