Ripafiorita Here is the village of all colors

RIPARBELLA Ripafiorita kicks off today, the event that for two days will transform the historic center of the hilltop village of Riparbella into an open-air stage, with floral displays , artistic installations and traditional flavors. The initiative, promoted by Proloco with the patronage of the municipal administration, will involve the entire community, aiming to surpass the record numbers recorded in the last edition. After last year's boom in attendance, the fourth edition is even richer and more scenic, thanks also to the displays that began well in advance, in fact the streets of the village have been divided into thematic sections, each with its own visual and sensorial identity: From the Garden of Wine, with flowering barrels in homage to the local winemaking tradition, to the corner of the Madonna delle Grazie, which will host a flower display dedicated to the "care of creation" created in collaboration with the Proloco of Fucecchio.
In Piazza dei racconti, 40 colored umbrellas will be suspended to create a floating sky, while in the ancient heart of the village, the municipal coat of arms has been recreated with petals and natural materials. Not far away, the large floral butterfly of the Flight of Beauty, symbol of the 2024 edition and which recalls a message of transformation and rebirth. There will also be plenty of space for gastronomy with the opening of the stands scheduled for 7:15 pm in the Carlo Alberto park from the church, with the traditional riparbellina soup, pappardelle with wild boar and, as a novelty, guinea fowl in a crust on the menu. At 5 pm, a floral-themed painting exhibition curated by the Etra Lab collective from Livorno and an open workshop on the art of flower arrangements will be inaugurated in the school gym, while at 6:30 pm a guided tour of the village murals will begin, meeting at the tourist office. Bimbolandia, the space dedicated to children with games and inflatables, will be open for the entire duration of the event. The streets of the town will also host a craft and flower market, while tomorrow, at 12:30, the awards ceremony of the Borg in fiore competition is scheduled, which involved residents in the floral decoration of their homes, concluding the day with music and a color party that will liven up the squares.
