Running, the Ottanelli Trophy at Cascine: running at sunset

Florence, July 2, 2025 – Starting and finishing at the Piscina delle Pavoniere, in the heart of the Cascine Park, the foot race in memory of Lorenzo Ottanelli took place, conceived by Mauro Pieroni and organized with the support of the UP Isolotto team. The event remembers the deceased friend, formerly in service with the Municipal Police of Florence: for this reason, the race includes a special ranking reserved for members of the police force.

A race that today takes on a double emotional value, since Mauro has also left us: the trophy has thus become an intense moment of memory and reflection for the entire team and friends. The course, meticulously measured and certified, develops over the exact distance of 10 km, offering everyone the opportunity to test themselves in the suggestive setting of the sunset. For non-competitive runners, there is also a shorter course, accessible to all. The backdrop is the enchanting Parco delle Cascine, with the start near the Piscina delle Pavoniere: you run towards the sunset, immersed in that magical light known by photographers as "golden hour", which envelops everything in warm and golden tones.

A success built over the years, thanks to a careful and close-knit organization, to which is added the now inevitable final watermelon, which contributed to attracting over 800 participants to the start. The proceeds of the event were also donated to the AMI Versilia Foundation, committed to supporting long-distance adoptions. Official photo shoot by ETS "Give me a smile" .
