San Giovanni Rotondo, the capital of Muay Thai: two world champions in the city combine sport and human values.

San Giovanni Rotondo – Sunday, November 9, 2025 – will host a special closed-door training session featuring local athletes from the Muay Thai School of the "Gold Center Club" Team, represented by Federkombat federal coaches Stefano De Bonis and Marco Longo, and others from various regions of central and southern Italy. The training session will be masterfully led by two multiple world champions , Allycia Rodrigues and Paloma Arranz, with the aim of improving the psychological, technical, and physical preparation of all participants.
On Monday, November 10, again in San Giovanni Rotondo, the multiple champions will be welcomed by school principals Maurizio Pisani and Rocco D'Avolio and students from the "M. Immacolata" High School and the "L. Di Maggio" Technical Institute. They will share their experiences demonstrating how sport, and Muay Thai in particular, has the power to build a winning mindset in each individual and achieve high levels of resilience to face life with serenity. Michele Germano , a child neuropsychiatrist, will provide important scientific insights during the meetings.
The idea of organizing this international event was born from Marco Longo and Michele Genovese (technical assistant of the school). In fact, during their stay in Thailand at the prestigious Phuket Fight Club – July 2025 – in order to improve their training in the practice of the ancient art of Muay Thai, they met and observed Allycia's hard training in preparation for and victory of her fifth world title in the famous international One Championship circuit.
Allycia, born in Brazil, began practicing various martial arts at a young age before finding her true calling in Muay Thai. After dominating the local Brazilian scene, she moved to Thailand to perfect her style. Her breakthrough came with One Championship, where in her 2020 debut she defeated the feared Stamp Fairtex. After a maternity break, she returned stronger than ever, defending her belt against big names (five-time world champion).
Paloma, born in Spain, moved to Thailand to pursue a dream, immersing herself in the culture and discipline of Muay Thai. After years of sacrifice and intense training, with an aggressive yet elegant style, she earned respect both inside and outside the ring, writing important pages in the history of women's Muay Thai, setting an example for all young fighters who want to make their mark in this oriental sport (two-time world champion).
The organizing team, represented by promoters De Bonis, Longo, and Genovese, has taken care of every detail to ensure the two fighters are welcomed to San Giovanni Rotondo in the best possible way. In addition to training and meetings with students, they will be making pilgrimages to the places where the monk Padre Pio lived, including the CSS Hospital.
"I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the event's promoters," said Carmine Bernabotto, president and founder of the Gold Center Club Sports Center, "because it will be a historic day that will shed further light on our club and in particular on our Muay Thai, which, in a time of true social emergency, is traveling on a path of the highest sporting and human values."
An event that enjoys the patronage of CONI Puglia, Federkombat and the Municipality of San Giovanni Rotondo and important partners: Hotel Perla del Gargano, Antica Trattoria, BLC, Lo Chalet, Autoscuole Borracino, Joma FP Sport and Service Security
