Arezzo, July 21, 2025 – Youth cycling is celebrated in Ponticino with the third edition of the Pieri Aligi, in memory of the Pedale Toscano coach who passed away prematurely a few years ago. Three races, one morning and one afternoon, took place on a hot Sunday in July. Among the Allievi, an eight-man sprint was won by Tommaso Roggi of Iperfinish, ahead of his teammate Edoardo Agnini, who mounted a remarkable comeback that allowed him to rejoin the leading group at the last minute and finish second. Giorgio Bramini Goretti (Gubbio) finished third, followed by William Lauretti (Olimpia Valdarnese), Raffaele Carrara (Gubbio), Kovacs, Tomashiro, and Cerofolini. The 67 kilometers were covered at an average speed of 38.335.

Among the second-year rookies, Mattia Festuccia (Work Service) won by a 1:04 margin over Diego De Stefano of Butese, 2:47 ahead of the group led by Mattia Iacopi (Pedale Toscano Ponticino) and Daniele Brocchi (Polisportiva Albergo). Tuscan champion Niccolò Iacopi of Pedale Toscano finished thirteenth.

Among the rookies, Diego Della Polla (Coltano Grube) performed well, finishing 2'42" ahead of his teammate Edoardo Stefanini. Filippo Battistelli (Gubbio) finished third.

In total, around 180 young people set off, thanks to the excellent organization of Pedale Toscano Ponticino, a company that has been continuously present in youth cycling for exactly 60 years.
