The Rega dei Tre Golfi is one of the longest-running and most fascinating offshore regattas in the Mediterranean. Born in 1954, this competition has survived the decades while maintaining its charm intact, thanks to a unique mix of sporting competition, breathtaking landscapes and maritime tradition. The 156-nautical-mile route will start on May 16 from the historic Santa Lucia harbour, at the foot of the majestic Castel dell'Ovo, one of the most iconic symbols of Naples. From there, the boats will embark on a night-time adventure between the three gulfs that give the regatta its name – Naples, Salerno and Gaeta – crossing one of the most spectacular landscapes in Italy. Along the way, the boats will circumnavigate some of the jewels of the Tyrrhenian Sea such as Capri, Ischia, Procida and Ventotene, offering the crews technical challenges but above all views of rare beauty. What makes the regatta unique is the night navigation: distant lights reflecting on the sea, the silence interrupted only by the wind and the movement of the sails, and the ability of the teams to dominate the darkness and the currents. An integral part of the event from 19 to 22 May are the races that animate Sorrento on the occasion of the IMA Mediterranean Maxi Offshore Challenge, a true festival of the sea that every year attracts an international audience of boats and owners, enriched by collateral and exclusive events such as the crew party with starred chefs at Le Axidie. The perfect starting point to enjoy the event in an atmosphere of absolute relaxation and refinement. is the Hotel Ara Maris, a 5-star luxury hotel in the heart of Sorrento. The jewel in the crown of the hotel is the large relaxation area with swimming pool and solarium, surrounded by greenery, designed to guarantee a space in which to disconnect from the world and focus on your well-being.

The flag whipped by the wind, the foam of the sea that rises impetuously and the colors of the four galleons that almost disappear among the waves. It is the image of strength with the 32 rowers who push the four boats with strokes of the oars in the choppy sea of Amalfi, protagonist this year of the Regatta of the Ancient Maritime Republics. The event that is hosted every year in turn between Genoa, Venice, Pisa and Amalfi precisely with which the glories and the most significant historical events experienced in the Middle Ages are recalled. The Regatta, in addition to offering a dive into the glorious past of the four queens of the seas, is also an extraordinary sporting event. The event, which will take place over several days, will culminate with the Palio Remiero on the stretch of sea between Capo di Vettica and Marina Grande on May 18 between the four galleons on which champions and promising young rowers of Italian rowing have been sitting for over a decade. These days they are intensifying their training to perfect their synchronism and measure out their strength and resistance. A two thousand meter course along which the four crews will battle it out to win the final victory. But the event is not just the race between the four boats, eagerly awaited by enthusiasts and athletes. The Regatta of the Maritime Republics is above all a dive into history through which the glories of the past are relived. For Amalfi, the Regatta has always been a special event. For this reason, the smallest and most intrepid of the Maritime Republics is preparing the celebratory program in the best possible way, which includes cultural and musical events. It starts on Thursday, May 15th with an exhibition dedicated to the celebratory posters of the 70 editions of the event: a real collection that for the first time ever will reconstruct, through the visual arts, the history of the rowing Palio. And then, cultural conferences, with the presence of scholars from the four cities, around the role of the Maritime Republics. Don't miss the women's galleon palio on Saturday, May 17th.

The Regatta is not just an event in the city of Amalfi. The entire Coast feels involved in this event, starting with nearby Atrani, where, after the crowd's embrace of the four crews, the historical parade will unfold on the 17th with almost 300 participants in period costumes. The event is an opportunity to visit one of the most beautiful corners of our country, the Amalfi Coast. Along the more than 40 kilometers of coast that separate its extremes (Positano and Vietri sul Mare), the road, following the difficult morphology of the territory, offers a continuous series of landscapes always balanced between the blue of the Tyrrhenian Sea and the peaks of the Lattari Mountains. Among fjords and coves, protected by UNESCO since 1997, there are many small villages to visit on foot, walking among the colored houses and the domes of the typical Amalfi churches. From the iconic Positano to the seaside village of Cetara to Atrani with its typical medieval structure from the isolated Ravello with its breathtaking views to the tiny Furore.

Right in Ravello, 350 meters above sea level, on one of the most panoramic heights of the Amalfi Coast, there is the Caruso, A Belmond Hotel, which dominates the Tyrrhenian Sea like an ancient vessel. The structure was built in the 11th century by a famous Roman patrician family and preserves intact the 18th century frescoes and vaulted ceilings. Immersed in a riot of lush gardens mostly composed of roses and lemon trees, the Caruso is embellished by the presence on the walls of antiques and testimonies of the past. Its Infinity Pool, a spectacular heated pool positioned at the highest point of the structure with an aerial view of the town of Ravello becomes A Caruso Pool Club, the first private and luxury pool club on the Amalfi Coast. This exclusive destination redefines poolside idleness with a daytime and evening program dedicated to everyone (guests and non-guests), full of experiences and events that range from early morning with a wellness program and gastronomic experiences until late at night when the poolside will host live concerts and late-night spaghetti dinners. All in the name of creative idleness.
