Mendoza Government PressThe provincial government reported that so far in 2025 , more than 260,000 records and certificates have been issued free of charge in the Mendoza Civil Registry , as a result of the elimination of fees stipulated in the tax law passed last year. This measure resulted in a cumulative savings of 1.835 billion pesos for citizens, according to official data.
"The goal is to ease the financial burden on citizens and continue making progress in reducing red tape. Furthermore, new technologies allow us to access quality information more quickly and simplify each process, making management more efficient and services more accessible," emphasized the Minister of Government, Infrastructure, and Territorial Development, Natalio Mema.
In these five months, a total of 262,173 records and certificates have been processed, both digitally and physically. Furthermore, the progress in the digitalization of Civil Registry services is reflected in the significant increase in online applications. While in 2024 only 18% of records were processed digitally, in June of this year the percentage rose to 33%.
Currently, electronically requested certificates are sent to citizens' email addresses within an average of 96 hours. However, the Civil Registry Office is working to reduce this time by half within a year, with the goal of providing a more efficient service.
This free and digitalized measure is part of a series of recent actions undertaken by the organization, which include:
- Office modernization: Incorporating technology to streamline customer service.
- Expansion of digital channels: Development of a mobile platform and improvements to the web portal to facilitate processing.
- Staff training: Refresher programs for the use of digital tools.
These initiatives, combined with the elimination of fees for accessing funds and certificates, seek to ensure greater accessibility and efficiency in the provision of public services, the Executive Branch asserts.
This progress is in addition to other initiatives by the Civil Registry Office, such as the progressive digitalization of services, which has already reached 33% of online applications and aims to reduce delivery times by half within a year.
