Milei sweeps legislative elections: 'The construction of a great Argentina' begins

BUENOS AIRES, ARG.- Argentine President Javier Milei celebrated the victory of his party, La Libertad Avanza (LLA), in the legislative elections on Sunday and said the government had passed the "pivotal point" and would now begin "building a great Argentina."
“Today has clearly been a historic day for Argentina,” said Milei from the LLA bunker in Buenos Aires, where she and her team celebrated winning the election with 39% of the vote and a wide margin over the Peronist Fuerza Patria and its allies, who obtained 29.4% .

The Argentine president asserted that during his first two years in office, he ensured that Argentina " didn't fall off the cliff. Argentina was a minefield, and thanks to this group of talented people, we've been able to emerge." Now, he said, "We must strengthen the reformist path in the next two years."
Milei stated that the result of the legislative elections "is the confirmation of the mandate they gave us in 2023."

According to his calculations, as of December 10, LLA will have 110 representatives and 20 senators in Congress, which will help him secure acceptance of the reforms he intends to implement in the country.
The president noted that " I would be a hypocrite if I didn't thank all those who supported the ideas of freedom to make Argentina great again. How beautiful Argentina is, and how beautiful purple looks on it. Today has been a historic day. The Argentine people left decadence behind and opted for progress."

The president asserted that his government is committed to creating a freer country and indicated that they will fulfill the electoral contract because "Argentina is great for everyone."
During his speech, he stated that there are dozens of representatives with whom his administration can reach basic agreements and invited governors from other parties to join this pact as well.

According to Milei, "two out of three Argentines don't want to go back to the past. We're 14 points ahead of Kirchnerism. Argentines don't want to return to the model of failure. Populism, never again," he stated.
Therefore, he announced, "starting December 10th, we will have the most reformist Congress in history."
