Tensions caused by false alarm at Tizimín police station

TIZIMÍN.— The tranquility of the Moctezuma police station was disturbed on Wednesday afternoon after an emergency call alerted them to the alleged illegal detention of a woman and her children in a temple.

The alert mobilized officers from the Municipal Police and the Public Security Secretariat (SSP), who quickly responded to the scene, activating protocols in response to what appeared to be a high-risk situation.

The corporation's own director and deputy director went to the site to supervise the work.

After searching the community's three temples, officers found no trace of anyone being held. A religious ceremony had been held in one of them, but everything proceeded normally and without incident after the event.

Sources indicated that it was all a personal conflict: a neighbor allegedly fabricated the story as retaliation against another local family.

After confirming that there was no danger, the security forces withdrew. There were no arrests or major consequences, beyond the scare and unnecessary mobilization.
