He wanted to text his girlfriend that he was on his way home and ended up chatting with an AI.

A video has become a trend on social media in which a young man, trying to text his partner that he was going to be home later than usual, ended up notifying Gemini, Google's chatbot .

He allegedly made this unusual mistake after drinking a few drinks at a party and, in an effort to update his girlfriend on how his night was going, he ended up having a conversation with this artificial intelligence tool .

" Love, I didn't even drink that much. I even wrote to you ," she wrote in the video, before it was shown in the conversation, which quickly went viral.

" Hi, love ," was the first message she wrote, believing she was talking to her partner. To which Gemini replied, " Hi! How are you? I hope you have a great day ."

Without any suspicion, the young man continued with the conversation: " Honey, my friends bought some bottles. I'll finish this one and I'm going home ," to which Gemini replied, " That sounds perfect to me! Have fun with your friends and be careful on the way back home. Let me know when you get there so I know you're okay ."

At this point in the conversation, the young man was already beginning to realize that something was off: "Oh, love. What's the miracle of you not getting angry?"

Upon uploading the video, the user realized he was talking to the artificial intelligence and not his girlfriend . The video immediately became a trending topic and generated all kinds of hilarious reactions.

" So what are we now? " one user joked in the comments section of the video, originally posted on the social network TikTok.
