"You did it again," they complain to the writer Guillermo Saccomanno (Buenos Aires, 1948), alluding to the book Arderá el viento , winner of the 2025 Alfaguara Novel Prize. They point to the author's subversive nature and his ruthless criticism of corruption in politics, art or justice and also in more intimate spheres, such as the family.
"The disease is called capitalism. It's the culture of surplus value: sex, money, power. We're contaminated by this triad. Everyone wants something they don't need, perhaps, but they crave it because their neighbor has it."
