INEGI reveals the growth of Mexico's international tourism during May

According to information issued by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) , 7.93 million foreign tourists arrived in Mexico in May 2025 , compared to 6.72 million in the same period in 2024.
This figure shared by the autonomous body represents an 18% increase in international tourists in Mexican territory. The data reflect an upward trend in tourism in Mexico, which welcomed 45.03 million international tourists in 2024, 7.4% more than in 2023 , a sustained increase since the end of the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, those arriving by air decreased by 5.6% year-over-year to 1.68 million people.
On the other hand, last May, total international tourist spending soared 6.3% year-on-year, rising to $2.618 billion from a previous figure of $2.464 billion.
