New 3.5% fuel price increase starting tomorrow: how to get a discount at YPF

July will start off on the wrong foot, as the state-owned oil company will implement a price increase on gasoline and diesel starting this Tuesday. In Mendoza, one of the many YPF service stations will have a discount of up to 6%.
Starting this Tuesday, July 1st, fuel prices will increase by 3.5% at YPF pumps . At the same time, the company will implement a new pricing scheme differentiated by fuel type and time slot : up to 6% cheaper during the early morning hours (midnight to 6am). The discount only applies to five of the company's service stations nationwide (more than 1,600); one of them is located in Mendoza .
"Starting tomorrow, a price update will be implemented that includes an average variation of 3.5%, taking into account already known parameters such as international oil prices, exchange rates, fuel taxes, and biofuel prices," YPF reported in a press release.

As an alternative to addressing the increase , the state oil company also announced that the benefit is achieved by combining two discounts : 3% for paying with the YPF APP between 0 and 6 a.m., plus an additional 3% if you use the self-service option at authorized stations.
The self-charging system, with its corresponding discount, will be available 24 hours a day, although only five stations nationwide currently offer it:
- Mariano Boedo, South Access, Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza
- Figueroa Alcorta 6608 and Echeverría, City of Buenos Aires
- Dorrego and Córdoba Avenues, City of Buenos Aires
- Pringles and Córdoba, City of Buenos Aires
- February 27th and Ovidio Lagos, Rosario
It's worth mentioning that the combined 6% discount will not be available in the provinces of Buenos Aires, La Pampa, and Jujuy . According to the text shared by the company, local legislation prohibits self-dispensing of fuel in these districts, which prevents the additional discount associated with this type of fueling from being applied.
Under the previous exception, YPF also emphasized that it is working to extend the self-service option to 50% of its service stations in the coming months . Thus, in the exempted jurisdictions (La Pampa, Jujuy, and Buenos Aires), the combined 6% discount will not be available while the restrictions remain in place.
