Save your wallet: the list of all the increases coming in July

The beginning of the month is always complicated for Argentines, because due to inflation, they must pay for services with different increases every month. At the start of the seventh month of the year, several items registered increases, such as fuel , where the price of crude oil increased due to the war in the Middle East, which is passed on to the pumps. Increases are expected to be below 5%, although this will depend on the geographic location and the individual company.

For their part, tenants who signed contracts governed by the repealed law regulating the rental market will have to face the updated Lease Contract Index, which shows an annual increase of 66.1% for July. This continues the slowdown experienced for several months. In June, the rent increase was 80.6%, in May it was 95.24%, in April it was 116.85%, in March it was 149.3%, in February it was 174%, and in January it was 190.69%. Similarly, in December 2024 the increase was 208.67%, in November it was 227.3%, in October it was 238%, and in September it was 243.16%.

In addition to fuel prices, which directly affect transportation, bus fares will also be subject to changes. In the provinces and the City of Buenos Aires, they will increase by 3.5%, with fares costing between $489.61 and $629.50.

Meanwhile, fares for buses operating within the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (AMBA) will increase by approximately 6% on Wednesday, July 16, completing the quarterly adjustment approved by the Executive Branch in May. Thus, SUBE fares will range between $451.01 and $618.35.

Utility rates will continue to be updated monthly, based on inflation. Thus, electricity, natural gas, and water bills will see increases in July, although not as high as those for telecommunications.

Cell phone and cable companies will implement new increases of around 5% in July. This continues the monthly updates, following the government's decision to eliminate regulations that limited increases in internet, cell phone, and cable rates.

The entities that represent private educational institutions with state subsidies in the Province of Buenos Aires will implement a 4.2% increase in July fees, while those in CABA will adjust their fees upward by 2.4% . Finally, prepaid health plans will see increases of between 1.2% and 2.6%, depending on the company and the type of plan purchased.
