In a clear sign of confidence in the country's economic future, the multinational Unilever announced from the National Palace an unprecedented investment of 30 billion pesos in Mexico , to be executed between 2025 and 2028. During the People's Morning Conference , Willem Uijen, operating director of the global supply chain, shared the details of the ambitious project that will transform the company's industrial infrastructure in Mexico.

One of the most anticipated announcements was the allocation of 8 billion pesos for the construction of a new plant in Nuevo León , a key state in Mexico's reindustrialization. The facility will be one of the most modern in Latin America, with cutting-edge technology , automated processes, energy efficiency, and a focus on sustainability.

"We are proud to strengthen our presence in Mexico. This plant will be a global model of innovation and sustainability," said Uijen.

The project promises to create 1,200 direct and indirect jobs , boosting regional economic development and positioning Mexico as a strategic hub for global manufacturing.

Also present at the conference was Mildred Villegas, CEO of Unilever Mexico, who highlighted the importance of public-private collaboration in building a more equitable and sustainable economic model.
