As a result of the fire that occurred in December 2023 inside the Quebradablanca tunnels , on the road that connects Bogotá and Villavicencio , and with the aim of carrying out complementary repair works that guarantee the safety of users and construction personnel, a partial closure will be carried out for work to vehicular traffic between kilometer 50+380 and kilometer 57+550, which will require the complete closure of this road, as reported by the Coviandina concession.

This measure, which, according to the concessionaire, is not due to the winter season or structural failures, will be implemented starting August 1 of this year , during a low-traffic season, in order to minimize the impact on mobility. The closure will last approximately three months.

Coviandina mentions that, during this time, the first stage of intervention will be developed (in the sector between kilometer 55+626 and kilometer 55+946), which includes the demolition and removal of some concrete slabs affected by the fire, the recovery of drainage and sewage systems, as well as other structural interventions that require the use of heavy machinery in both lanes .
