They are also related to obesity and insulin resistance. Kidney failure and hypertension also significantly disrupt our sleep.”

Mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety are triggers for chronic insomnia. , which can be corrected with sleep hygiene practices, such as having set bedtimes and wake-up times, limiting technology use, and taking care of your diet.

Durán Gutiérrez explained that any problems related to sleeping and not getting a restful night's sleep, such as difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep, are considered sleep disorders .
