As a resource that enhances creativity by expanding individual capabilities and transcending ghettos, collaborations are gaining ground in creative culture. Among the first collaborations between art and fashion is the "organza dress with painted lobster" by Elsa Schiaparelli and Salvador Dalí , worn by Wallis Simpson, Duchess of Windsor, for a Vogue spread in 1937. Other successful collaborations included Yves Saint Laurent + Piet Mondrian and Gianni Versace + Andy Warhol.

Life without humor is a true tragedy! is the name of the alliance between Jazmín Chebar and Edgardo Giménez , and in this case, the innovation comes from technology and an expansive nature , which involves clothing, architecture, and accessories.

The magic happens during arteba 2023, when the designer unveils a pop-up featuring Giménez's Fancy Monas series. "We found a very similar DNA to Jazmín Chebar's brand; even the color palette seemed familiar," said Mora Becerra, the brand's art and textiles director, during a discussion at MC Galería , where Fancy Monas Week , an exhibition featuring all the designs, was presented.

Although they had previously worked with artists and designers, our "pop icon" presented his demands. "During the initial tests, we arranged one of the works that had been horizontal in a vertical format because it seemed novel, even cheeky, but he stopped us: 'No, there's no way you can alter that,'" the creative added during the forum, alongside curator Jazmín Adler and Juan Cruz Andrada , an art market specialist.

“Teamwork involved sharing ideas, and the negotiable aspects included color and size, but not the actual design of the work,” he concluded.

The series' origins lie in a poster for the Arte 67 exhibition at the Nordiska gallery in Buenos Aires. That first monkey was followed by others in his paintings, sculptures, and stage designs. They took on volume and materialized in aluminum, lacquered wood, and ceramics. They are a central figure in Edgardo Giménez's fantasy universe.

Fancy Monas is a digital work whose development required more than a year of research. A team of curators selected 113 features of different types from their archive, including physical characteristics such as eyes, mouths, hairstyles and fur, clothing and accessories, and colorful backgrounds. Each of these features is a reference to the artist's history and, in turn, became aesthetic parameters for training an AI that, using an algorithm, made combinations until generating the 1,942 pieces.

In May, the collaboration extended to the Jazmín Chebar store in Palermo, transformed into an immersive experience in the dreamlike and sophisticated universe of irreverent pop art.

Fancy Monas is a work within a work. The collaboration poses a tension between the exclusivity of art and the expansive intentions of fashion , but the technological paradigm is added to this pairing. While some consume exclusively fashion, others are interested in the collection through its hybridization with technology, or through its intersections with artistic practices.

To satisfy everyone, the collaboration has emerged: a collection in which some pieces are even more exclusive, with a digital certificate of authenticity that validates ownership and guarantees the uniqueness of the work, incorporating an NFC Tag that gives access to exclusive content about the work via contactless .
