With judicial election, Mexico moves toward progress: Lenia Batres speaks out after voting

MEXICO CITY (apro) .- Upon casting her vote in the Judicial Election, Lenia Batres Guadarrama, justice of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN), stated that with this election, Mexico will change two centuries of the Judicial Branch in the country.
The minister, who is also seeking a run for the presidency of the Supreme Court of Justice (SCJN), explained that with the election, the country is moving toward progress, as this is driven by the democratic decisions of the people.
"We are participating in a historic, unprecedented, extraordinary process that will change two centuries of the judiciary in our country.
"We are the first country in the world to democratize its judiciary, and we are on the path to progress, particularly progress related to the decisions of the people," he emphasized after casting his vote.
During her brief address to the media outside the voting booth, the Supreme Court justice emphasized that this election to the Judiciary is nothing short of celebratory, as it represents a reform, which, she emphasized, was also part of the proposed initiative when she was appointed justice.
Batres Guadarrama also celebrated the public appearance of former Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to cast his vote in the judicial election. "We are extremely pleased. It's great that he's taking on this historic task."
Around 10:15 a.m., the self-proclaimed "Minister of the People" Lenia Batres Guadarrama went to vote at the República Española school in the Viaducto Piedad neighborhood of the Iztacalco borough.
After waiting at least ten minutes in line to access the polling stations, Minister Batres took at least ten minutes to cast her vote in the Judiciary election and left with her office team, led by Netzaí Sandoval.
