After a meeting in Chascomús, Sergio Massa left open his possible candidacy in the legislative elections.

Sergio Massa met with mayors of the Renewal Front in Chascomús to discuss the organization ahead of the legislative elections. The summit took place days after Cristina Kirchner announced her candidacy for the Third Electoral Section, a movement that reorganized the Peronist party. Massa listened to the mayors and confirmed that he will make a decision on his candidacy in July .

The barbecue was organized by the local mayor, Javier Gastón , and was attended by leaders from the 18 municipalities governed by the Peronist Left (FR) in the province of Buenos Aires. The discussion revolved around the impact of CFK's announcement, the possibility that Javier Milei might nationalize the provincial election on September 7, and the need to strengthen Peronist unity in this context.

During the meeting, the mayors presented their views on the role the former minister should assume in the upcoming elections. Some proposed that he head the list of national deputies, while others encouraged him to run for a position in the Buenos Aires Legislature.

Among those supporting a national candidacy were mayors who see Sergio Massa as a key figure in the October elections. Meanwhile, leaders such as Javier Osuna (General Las Heras) and Juan Andreotti (San Fernando) proposed that he be a candidate for the First Section. They requested a meeting to further discuss this idea in the coming days.

Sergio Massa did not rule out any option. He said he will tour 16 municipalities in the coming weeks to listen to the party's grassroots. The final decision will be announced during the Frente Renovador Congress, scheduled for the first week of July.

At the same time, the Massa supporters are questioning Governor Axel Kicillof 's decision to split the elections. They believe this measure complicates the closing of lists, especially in the Third Section, and forces mayors to organize their strategies in a more uncertain scenario.

In addition to the electoral issues, the leaders discussed other management issues. They discussed the decline in co-participation , the impact of the national government's adjustments, the situation of retirees and people with disabilities , and presented a proposal to incorporate technology into security policies.
