Kirchnerism defines candidates in the Province: Axel Kicillof and Máximo Kirchner agreed on unity and how they will choose the candidates.

Following Cristina Kirchner's house arrest, Kirchnerism began this Sunday to rethink its electoral strategy in the province of Buenos Aires, where Axel Kicillof managed to defeat Máximo Kirchner's La Cámpora and hold split elections: provincial deputies and senators will be voted on September 7, while national legislators will be voted on October 26. Within this framework, the various sectors of Peronism agreed to compete together during a meeting attended by the governor and the deputy son of the former president, Sergio Massa.

According to Peronist sources, representatives from the various sectors of Peronism agreed to form a joint front for the two electoral elections . And, in particular, the criteria for choosing the candidates who will head the sectional lists were finalized: they will be the most competitive leaders. They thus seek to avoid defeats in the most important district currently governed by Kirchnerism.

Those attending revealed that the meeting's atmosphere was "good," with "some heated discussions." The new political landscape facing Kirchnerism, with Cristina Kirchner imprisoned in her home in the Constitución neighborhood, forced the Camporistas to tone down their criticism of Kicillof and sit down to negotiate as equals.

In operational terms, a small panel was established to determine the candidates, comprised of the three parties. However, the electoral strategy will be in the hands of the governor of Buenos Aires, a decision that would allow La Cámpora to blame Kicillof in the event of a Peronist defeat.

At the same time, they agreed on various issues, such as, they said, the need to "confront Milei's austerity and debt policies, defend CFK's innocence, and prevent the chainsaw from entering the PBA."

The meeting took place between 6 and 10 p.m., amidst mates and pastries. They will meet again next Tuesday to discuss further issues related to the Buenos Aires elections.

On behalf of the Right to the Future Movement , Kicillof's party, the governor was represented by his chief advisor, Carlos "Carli" Bianco, the mayor of La Plata, Julio Alak, his counterpart from Ensenada, Mario Secco, his counterpart from La Matanza, Fernando Espinoza, from Varela, Andrés Watson, and the former mayor of Ituzaingó, Alberto Descalzo.

The Renovador Front was led by Massa, the leaders and the leader and brother of Malena Galmarini, Sebastián Galmarini, Alexis Guerrera, former Minister of Transportation and current president of the Buenos Aires Chamber of Deputies, and the mayor of San Fernando, Luis Andreotti.

Meanwhile, from La Cámpora, Máximo Kirchner led the delegation, along with the mayor of Quilmes, Mayra Mendoza, from Moreno, Mariel Fernández, and the mayor of Lomas de Zamora, Federico Otermín.
