La Cámpora denounced the illegal detention of Nelson Periotti, convicted in the Highways Case

La Cámpora denounced the illegal detention of Nelson Periotti, convicted in the Highways Case

La Cámpora , the Kirchnerist group led by Máximo Kirchner , attacked the prosecutor in the Highways case , Diego Luciani , and the Second Federal Oral Court, which is handling the case. The court asserts that Nelson Periotti 's arrest is "illegal" and represents "political persecution" against him and the entire political community.

The former head of the National Highway Administration was sentenced to six years in prison by the Supreme Court and is facing the same legal challenge as Cristina Kirchner due to his role in the bidding and contracting of public works companies. "We were with national deputies and senators, political, union, student, religious, and human rights leaders in front of the Ezeiza prison to denounce the illegal detention and political persecution of our colleague Nelson Periotti ," stated members of the K sector.

"He was convicted in the Vialidad case, the same case under which they persecute and proscribe Cristina Fernández de Kirchner. A fabricated case riddled with irregularities . To no one's surprise, the mafia boss Diego Luciani delayed the house arrest request and forced Nelson's detention in a regular jail," La Cámpora reported.

Along the same lines, the Kirchnerist group asserted that "it's clear they're convicting him without evidence because he never betrayed anyone, he doesn't sell out or negotiate his loyalty to Cristina. We demand FAIR and DIGNIFIED treatment for our comrade. And let the judicial mafia know that, sooner or later, the people will return," the organization concluded.

In the criminal scheme uncovered by the courts, Periotti is identified as a key figure in the fraud against the state. In his role, he was responsible for awarding contracts and awarded 51 contracts to Lázaro Báez for projects that were never carried out, with the money deposited into the company's account, apparently with the prior knowledge of the Kirchnerist leader.

The damage caused to the state was estimated at 85 billion pesos, so all those involved in the case were subject to embargoes to return to the public accounts what was stolen during Cristina Kirchner's administration. Meanwhile, the La Cámpora official was not "benefited" from house arrest like the former president or Lázaro Báez himself.
