The Buenos Aires UCR reorganized and began to define its electoral strategy for the Province.
electoral strategy
The Buenos Aires UCR (United Nations Children's Fund) has formed a Contingency Committee and is moving forward with a joint electoral strategy between the Abad and Lousteau factions.

The Buenos Aires UCR ( United Nations Civic Union) launched its electoral strategy and reached a key agreement between the factions of Maximiliano Abad and Martín Lousteau. It launched a new working structure with an eye toward the elections. A Contingency Committee , headed by Miguel Fernández, and a Contingency Convention , headed by Pablo Domenichini, were created. The movement seeks to organize the party's strategy in the Province and regain influence in the political arena.

The Buenos Aires UCR defines its electoral strategy with new leadership

Party networks asserted that the goal is to work with each committee president, mayors, and legislators to strengthen the Radical Party's structure. The initiative represents a rapprochement between two groups that had been estranged: one closer to the national ruling party, led by Abad, and the other, more critical, anchored by Lousteau.

The restructuring comes amid internal tensions over the party's political future. Some sectors are proposing alliances with the libertarian camp, while others seek to consolidate a centrist approach. This new leadership appears to be an attempt to organize the internal debate.

Radical mayors and territorial strategy in the Province

The Buenos Aires UCR (United Nations Civic Union) holds 27 mayoralties out of a total of 135 municipalities. This territorial influence remains a key political asset in the electoral contest. The mayors from the interior retain local structures with which they can influence, especially in the fourth, fifth, and sixth sections.

Miguel Fernández, mayor of Trenque Lauquen, assumed leadership of the Contingency Committee and emphasized the importance of the agreement reached. "We showed a mature gesture to launch the Radical Party in the Province," he stated after his appointment. He also emphasized that they are seeking to restore the party's identity through regional work and political coordination.

The next step will be a meeting with the Buenos Aires Mayors' Forum, which will convene next week. "We will work across all sections to advance electoral engineering that provides certainty in a changing context," Fernández explained.

Gastón Manes resigned from the UCR National Convention.

At the same time, Gastón Manes announced his resignation as president of the UCR National Convention and as a representative for Buenos Aires. He announced this in a letter addressed to Martín Lousteau and shared on social media.

"I am resigning because I am faithful to my principles, not to my positions," Manes wrote. In the letter, he expressed his displeasure with what he considers a loss of the party's doctrinal and organizational identity, which—according to him—has become a "confederation of provincial positions." His departure exposes tensions at the national level, although it does not halt the reorganization process underway within the Buenos Aires UCR , which is already working on a new strategy for the next election.
