Javier Milei on State Workers

The government announced it will appeal the ruling that suspended Javier Milei's DNU (Decree of the Ordinary) ruling , which eliminated the State Employee holiday . The labor court upheld a precautionary measure filed by the State Employees Association ( ATE ), and the benefit will apply only to its members. The disputed day is June 27 , a commemorative date for public employees.

The union mafia managed to get the judicial establishment to protect one of its privileges once again in record time.

It is important to clarify that the injunction issued tonight by Judge Moira Fullana, suspending the effects of the Decree that eliminates the "holiday" of February 27…

Presidential spokesman Manuel Adorni was responsible for announcing the official decision. In his message, he accused ATE of acting in complicity with "the judicial establishment" and harshly criticized Judge Moira Fullana , who issued the ruling. "The ruling was so express that the incompetent judge made a mistake in the article she is trying to suspend," Adorni said.

Furthermore, he emphasized that the judicial measure does not apply to all public employees, but only to those represented by ATE. According to the government, this highlights the "corporate" nature of the claim.

The Casa Rosada confirmed that they will file an immediate appeal. According to Adorni, the goal is to "ensure the elimination of all benefits or prerogatives of a caste above the people ." This phrase echoes the usual rhetoric of the ruling party, which seeks to reduce labor rights that it considers "inherited privileges."

The State Employees' Holiday was created by law in 2013. It is only mandatory for national public administration workers. This year, the Executive Branch attempted to eliminate it through Decree 430/2025 , a measure that has already faced several challenges.

ATE president Rodolfo Aguiar celebrated the ruling with a direct post on X. “Look, Milei , how we celebrate at ATE. Tomorrow is a holiday, man. It didn’t help you to act so handsome,” he wrote. The message went viral and deepened the conflict with the government.

The Executive branch expressed its determination to stand by its position and confirmed that it will insist on eliminating the holiday for all public employees. The discussion over June 27th added a new chapter to the dispute between Javier Milei and the state unions.
