The series that begins this Tuesday, May 20, between Caliente de Durango and Saraperos de Saltillo at the Francisco Villa Stadium promises to be a key duel for both teams, who are looking to climb out of the bottom of the standings in the Northern Zone of the Mexican Baseball League (LMB) .

The games are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. , Tuesday, May 20 through Thursday, May 22 .

Saraperos arrives with a record of 11-16 , located in ninth place in the North Zone , while Caliente de Durango marches in tenth and last position with a record of 10-17 .

Both teams are coming off a series loss:

Saraperos dropped two of three games against Algodoneros de Unión Laguna , including a painful 13-2 defeat on Sunday, May 18.

Caliente de Durango also lost two of three to the Tijuana Bulls , being outscored 9-2 in the last meeting.

CHANGES IN SARAPEROS

Saltillo has undergone a series of changes to its coaching staff in an effort to improve its performance.

Recently, the departure of coaches Giovanni Carrara (pitching) and Eliézer Alfonzo (hitting) was announced.

In their place, Adán Muñoz was added as bench coach, Juan Carlos Canizales as hitting coach, and Gerardo Sánchez as third base coach.

Additionally, the team fired manager Enrique “Che” Reyes and named Sergio Omar Gastélum as his replacement.

BACKGROUND OF BOTH TEAMS

This season, Caliente de Durango and Saraperos de Saltillo already faced each other in a series in April, where Durango took the first two games by scores of 12-8 and 5-3 , respectively. Saraperos managed to avoid a sweep by winning the third game 6-4 .

For Saraperos , it will be crucial that the changes in the coaching staff begin to be reflected on the field, especially in pitching, which has been one of their weakest areas.
