Ruth Chepngetich, the women's marathon world record holder, has been suspended following a doping test. The Athletics Integrity Unit reported that she tested positive for a banned diuretic and a masking agent in March and opted for a voluntary provisional suspension while the investigation is ongoing . The Kenyan set the world record of 2 hours, 9 minutes, and 56 seconds at the 2024 Chicago Marathon, reducing the previous record by almost two minutes.
