How many Dutch people combine two jobs?

844,000 workers – both self-employed and employees – had a second job in 2024. In 37.9% of cases, this involved a combination of employment and self-employment.
The share of workers with a main job as an employee who also have a job as a self-employed person has increased slightly since 2013: from 2.5% to 3.1% in 2024.
Of the self-employed, 5.2% had a second job as an employee last year.
For self-employed persons with staff (ZMP'ers) this was 2.1%.
Of the employees, 3.1% combined their main job with self-employed work.
Among highly educated employees this figure was 4.4%.
