Norway takes big step towards World Cup with win over Italy

Norway took a big step towards the World Cup with a 3-0 win over Italy. In Oslo, the Italians were no match for the home team with big names such as Erling Haaland and Martin Ødegaard. For the team of national coach Luciano Spalletti, it was the first match in the qualifying series, the Norwegians have everything in their own hands for the time being after earlier victories against Moldova and Israel. Only the group winner is certain of participation in next year's World Cup.
The Norwegians took the lead in the 14th minute with a goal from Atlético Madrid forward Alexander Sørloth. In the 34th minute, it was already 2-0. The 20-year-old Antonio Nusa soloed past two Italian defenders and passed goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma with a hard shot. Haaland made it 3-0 before half-time, after a pass from playmaker Ødegaard.
