Trump may deny AP access to media events after all

US President Donald Trump may now deny AP access to certain media events at the White House, according to the appeals court. The court is doing so in defiance of a judge's decision on 8 April that AP journalists should be allowed access to the White House and Air Force One, the presidential plane.
The White House had barred AP journalists from the Oval Office, the presidential plane Air Force One and White House events after a dispute over the "Wave of America."
Right behind APThe news agency was unwilling to adopt the name change from Gulf of Mexico to Gulf of America, which Trump introduced. After this denial, AP went to court, arguing that freedom of expression had been violated.
The judge then ruled that the press agency could not be refused entry to these locations.
"Under Article 1 of the Constitution, the government cannot open the doors of, for example, the Oval Office or the East Room to a select group of journalists and deny other journalists the opportunity to present their views." Freedom of the press and also freedom of expression are enshrined in the first article of the Constitution.
'Victory over AP'AP called it a "victory at a time when the press is being pressured by Trump," but the president now appears to be getting his way.
Trump celebrated the ruling on Truth Social, saying, “Big win over AP today.”
