A key expressway finally gets a makeover. Drivers will travel faster.

In the case of the Raciborowice junction, drivers were already able to partially use it earlier, but now they are also provided with access to the entrance towards Kraków and the exit from the junction from the Kraków side .

"The previous 80 km/h speed limit, which was in place due to roadworks, has also been removed. This means that the entire section of the S7 route in Małopolska north of Krakow is now accessible to drivers with a target speed of 120 km/h, " notes Kacper Michna from the Krakow branch of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways.

This was also possible thanks to the fact that less than two days earlier both carriageways were reopened to traffic between the Raciborowice and Mistrzejowice junctions.

Over 13 km of the S7 Widoma-Mistrzejowice expressway have been open for over six months. More sections are coming soon.

In December, the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) opened 13.3 km of the route from the Widoma junction to the Mistrzejowice junction, which is currently under construction. However, a 5-kilometer section from the Mistrzejowice junction to the Nowa Huta junction is still under construction .

"29 structures will be built on this section – bridges, viaducts, and overpasses. This is a huge number, considering that we're talking about a short section. For comparison, on the 13.3 km of the S7 between the Widoma and Mistrzejowice junctions there are "only" 34 such structures," the general directorate lists.

By the end of 2025, it plans to open a 2-kilometer section between the Grębałów and Nowa Huta junctions to drivers. The Mistrzejowice junction is expected to open in the second half of 2026 , completing the full section of the Krakow IV Bypass.
