Europe is waking up. These companies will challenge America in the AI race
The European Union is on the counter-offensive to get into the AI race, where the United States and China are the leaders. And it is not in a hopeless position. During the recent Paris AI Action Summit, President Emmanuel Macron skillfully tried to position France as a powerhouse in the field of artificial intelligence. The announced package of investments in data center infrastructure worth over €100 billion was certainly a clear signal to the world. Especially since over 60 companies committed to join the EU AI Champions initiative, declaring another €150 billion to support AI projects on the Old Continent over the next five years. And that's not all, because the EU added €50 billion as part of a new mission to strengthen the Community's competitiveness. This was a clear signal that after Donald Trump announced Stargate (a $500 billion program to finance AI projects) and China announced its equivalent with a budget of around $140 billion, Europe had taken up the gauntlet.
