Five-digit pension. This is how much the former president will receive from ZUS

In August 2025, President Andrzej Duda's second term ends. He will receive a lifetime pension that significantly exceeds the average benefits paid by the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS). The monthly payout for the former president can reach over PLN 11,000 "in hand". What's more, in addition to the benefit itself, he is also entitled to numerous privileges.
The amount of the presidential pension is regulated by the Act of 30 May 1996 on the remuneration of the former President of the Republic of Poland . According to its provisions, the former president is entitled to 75% of the basic salary of the currently serving president.
In 2025, the monthly salary of the President of the Republic of Poland is PLN 18,255.30 gross - informs the biznesinfo.pl portal. This means that after the end of his term, Andrzej Duda will receive PLN 13,691.47 gross , which is approximately PLN 11,240 net per month.

According to ZUS data, the average pension paid in 2025 is approximately PLN 3,782.58 gross , which is nearly PLN 3,200 net . The minimum pension is PLN 1,878.91 gross , which is approximately PLN 1,713 net .

The former president's pension, resulting from separate regulations, is more than three times higher than the average pension and six times higher than the minimum pension.
Presidential Bonus PackageUnder the 1996 Act, the former president is entitled to additional benefits, such as:
- lifetime protection of the State Protection Service (SOP)
- company car with driver
- access to the office and secretarial services
- free health care financed from the state budget
All this is available to former presidents regardless of their further professional activity.
Possibility to work without income limitsFormer presidents can undertake professional activities (e.g. in the public sector, at universities, in research institutes) without any restrictions related to income limits, which distinguishes their situation from a significant part of retirees covered by the general pension system.
In an interview with Radio Zet, Andrzej Duda noted that he does not rule out involvement in public activities after the end of his term. Currently, however, no specific actions are being taken in this regard.
