He hit a woman on a pedestrian crossing. She was taken to hospital

Yesterday, a few minutes after 12 o'clock, a dangerous incident occurred at a marked pedestrian crossing on Bolesława Chrobrego Street in Trzebnica. A 22-year-old Opel driver hit a 72-year-old woman who was crossing the street - a resident of the area.

Emergency services were immediately called to the scene, and the injured senior citizen was transported to hospital, where she underwent detailed tests. Fortunately, she did not suffer any life-threatening injuries. Police officers from the Trzebnica traffic police began to establish all the circumstances of the incident. It is known that the resident of our district was sober and had a driving license. For failing to give way on the crossing, he was fined PLN 2,500 and given 15 penalty points.

This is a painful lesson that reminds us how important it is to be careful when driving – especially in the area of ​​pedestrian crossings. It is worth remembering that not only drivers should be careful at pedestrian crossings, but also pedestrians, making sure that the driver of the car sees us before entering the roadway. It is worth observing the principle of limited trust here. The driver may be distracted, so the pedestrian, despite having the right of way, should make sure that the driver of the car sees them and slow down, and only when they see that they are stopping, enter the roadway.
