He ran away from the training camp. Consequences await him

During Śląsk Wrocław's training camp in Trzebnica, an unexpected incident occurred - striker Assad Al-Hamlawi left the team on his own, ignoring his current contract. The club strongly condemned his behavior, describing it as unprofessional and announcing consequences.

During the training camp of the first league Śląsk Wrocław in Trzebnica, a surprising situation occurred. The striker of the Wrocław club, Assad Al-Hamlawi, left the team without informing the training staff or the club's management. As stated in the official statement, the player's decision was unilateral and inconsistent with the terms of the current contract.

The event caused quite a stir among the WKS board, which issued a statement clearly condemning the player’s behaviour:

- On Saturday, he left the training camp without the club's consent. We consider his behavior to be completely unprofessional, inappropriate for the role of a professional footballer and inconsistent with the provisions of the contract and union regulations - we read in a press release from Śląsk Wrocław.

Al-Hamlawi, who scored seven goals in the spring round of the previous season, is a Śląsk player bound by a contract until June 2027. His contract includes a release clause of one million euros. The Egyptian club Al-Ahly, which would be able to pay the aforementioned amount and provide the player with significantly higher earnings, has expressed interest in the sniper.

Both the player and his representatives had been pushing for a transfer for some time, but the Wrocław club remained adamant.

The striker and his management have been pressuring the club for some time to agree to an outgoing transfer. However, none of the offers that have recently reached the club were close to the amount entered in the contract, which means that WKS was not obliged to accept them, especially since all of the offers significantly differed from the player's market value – emphasizes Śląsk.

As reported, transfer talks with one of the foreign clubs accelerated after the start of the training camp in Trzebnica. The club from Wrocław received an offer that gave hope for an agreement that would satisfy all parties. WKS expressed its willingness to negotiate, but Al-Hamlawi ignored this gesture and left the training camp without permission.

- There is no and never will be Śląsk Wrocław's consent to such behavior. In connection with this, WKS has broken off the current transfer talks and unequivocally declares that it will agree to sell the player only after receiving an offer that satisfies the club. Of course, Śląsk will also pursue its rights from the player, who did not fulfill the obligations included in the contract, thus showing not only a lack of respect for Śląsk Wrocław, his teammates and fans, but also exposing himself to punishment from the club - the club adds.

These events cast a shadow over the team's preparations for the new 2025/26 season. The training camp in Trzebnica was supposed to be a time of intensive work, integration and building form for the upcoming games. Instead, the attention of the media and fans focused on the controversial behavior of one of the key players.

At the moment, the whereabouts of Assad Al-Hamlawi are unknown. The club does not rule out further legal and disciplinary consequences against the player. The case will certainly continue, and Śląsk Wrocław will have to quickly make decisions that will allow for the stabilization of the staff situation and focus on sporting goals.

Will Al-Hamlawi find a new club and leave for the one million euros written into his contract? Or maybe Śląsk will take a tough stance and not bow to the player's pressure? Time will tell, but one thing is certain: his willful escape from Trzebnica has had a wide resonance and may have far-reaching consequences for the player.
