It is hard not to notice the road investments being made in the city, but potholed and uneven surfaces are still a very wide area for action, because there are many places that call for an urgent response from road workers. Among those in a tragic condition is the unrenovated section of Kochanowskiego Street leading to Opalińskiego. Over 100 signatures collected by residents under an appeal for help in this matter were a clear signal that the problem can no longer be ignored.
The last straw was the recent cloudburst, after which the road surface condition of the aforementioned section deteriorated to such an extent that pedestrians, especially the elderly, traverse it with their hearts in their mouths. Driving, as we experienced first-hand, is also a risky challenge. In some places, such as near number 63A, the water took away a section of the road.
[middle1]One of the people who signed the petition for the renovation of Kochanowski was the deputy chairwoman of the Kazanów Housing Estate Management Board, Małgorzata Sztolf.
- The condition of the Kochanowski section, which leads to Opaliński, is currently terrible. The holes look like craters in some places. After torrential rains and storms rolled through Przemyśl on Good Friday, they deepened enough that you can simply fall into them. We have submitted a motion to the city authorities in this matter, asking for an urgent response - he says.
The estate board and residents also decided to involve councilor Paweł Grabas (one of the members of the estate board) in the matter, who submitted an appropriate interpellation to the city office. They say it would be great if money for renovation could be found this year, although it is hard to assume whether this is realistic.
– We wonder why this fragment was left when Kochanowskiego was renovated (the reconstruction took place in 2023 and was carried out with funding from the "National program for the reconstruction of local roads - Stage II Safety - Accessibility - Development" - author's note), and yet it was not treated as a whole. Why divide such tasks into installments? - asks M. Sztolf...
