New ideas for city communication

New ideas for city communication

The Youth City Council of Jarosław, consisting of 20 representatives of students from Jarosław primary and secondary schools, reactivated after a 13-year break, has only just been established and has already got down to work. One of its first initiatives was a meeting with the head of PWiK in Jarosław, Piotr Kuchta, which took place in the first half of June. The meeting had a very specific goal. The young residents of Jarosław want to convince the company to consider their idea for a new bus line that would connect: the Transfer Center, the Boulevards on the San River and the bus stop at Krakowska Street, next to the McDonald's restaurant. The concept was presented on behalf of the Youth City Council by its representatives: Alwin Płocica (vice chairman), Patryk Olech and Szymon Kłos, arguing why it is important. According to the young people, such a connection will enable easy access to the boulevards, which have become a place of rest and recreation, will facilitate transfers from other lines (e.g. line no. 0) and will meet the needs of young people who often visit the area around McDonald's, and perhaps also attract more tourists to the city.

Will the idea be implemented? PWiK put the topic up for consideration by residents on its social media profile. Commentators considered it a good idea, and additionally suggested their own solutions, including more frequent weekend connections from the city center to the municipal cemetery on Szczytniańska Street or coordinating the timetable with trains arriving in and departing from the city. Time will tell whether such suggestions from young Jarosław residents will be taken into account.
