Subsidies for sports clubs

A record number of 149 applications for funding were submitted to the competition for projects for sports clubs. The amount that the city will allocate for subsidies will also be a record. This year, it will be as much as PLN 6 million.
Kraków allocates money to support sports every year. In 2024, 117 sports clubs applied for it. In this year's recruitment, which lasted from January 31 to February 17, as many as 149 applications for grants were submitted.
According to the regulations, sports clubs operating in our city and implementing projects that directly contribute to the development of the children and youth training system could apply. This could be, for example, improving conditions for practicing sports in clubs, increasing access to sports activities conducted by them.
This year, the city budget subsidy for sports clubs has more than doubled from PLN 2.9 million in 2024 to PLN 6 million. This allows for the possibility of co-financing a larger number of beneficiaries. Last year, 109 applications received a positive assessment, of which 76 received funds. The remaining 33 projects, although they met the formal criteria, did not receive funding because there was no money.
