Tests conducted in recent days have shown good water quality at the bathing area in Dąbie. It is safe to swim there, the Szczecin city council announced on Wednesday. As a result, entry to the bathing area is subject to a fee.

At the bathing site in Dąbie, the bathing ban, which was introduced due to exceeding the permissible limits for the presence of E. coli bacteria in water, has been lifted.

"You can now swim there safely. Tests conducted over the past few days have confirmed the good quality of the water," said Paulina Łątka, spokeswoman for the City Hall in Szczecin, on Wednesday.

This also means that admission to the swimming area in Dąbie is no longer free. Children up to 6 years of age and disabled persons with a guardian enter free of charge; a reduced ticket costs PLN 9; a regular ticket – PLN 18, a reduced pass for 10 entries – PLN 81; a regular pass – PLN 162. The Dąbie swimming area is open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. There are no lifeguards on duty for the last four hours.

Additionally, since Thursday, the water in this bathing area has been tested by specialist floating probes. The constant monitoring of Lake Dąbie in the area of the bathing area is a response to the regular cases of water pollution in recent years, probably from illegally discharged sewage.

Two sets of devices have been placed on the lake, about 70 m from the shoreline. Using research probes, they will check the physical and chemical parameters of the water, including pH, conductivity and temperature.

The season at Szczecin's bathing areas started on Sunday. In addition, Dąbie also has Głębokie and Dziewoklicz bathing areas. They are open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Admission is free for the last two hours, but there will be no lifeguards at the bathing area during that time. Admission for children up to 6 years of age and for disabled people with a guardian is free; reduced-price ticket - PLN 8; regular ticket - PLN 16, reduced-price pass for 10 entries - PLN 72; regular pass - PLN 144.

Tickets can be purchased at the ticket offices or online, as well as in the Szczecin Mobile City Card application.
