The Lower Silesian Voivodeship Board received a discharge for 2024!

The Lower Silesian Regional Assembly granted the Management Board a vote of confidence and discharge for the implementation of the budget for 2024. This is an expression of appreciation for the responsible and transparent financial management of the region, which has resulted in record revenues, balanced expenditures and the continuation of key investments for Lower Silesia.
- We have a year of work on new projects behind us, as well as the continuation of previous projects. We have not only maintained the financial stability of the region, but also effectively implemented priority investments. The vote of confidence and the discharge received are not only an appreciation of our actions, but above all a motivation to continue working for the benefit of Lower Silesia. It is worth mentioning that this is the success of two Boards - Marshal Cezary Przybylski and the current Board - says Michał Rado, Deputy Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.
In 2024, the province's revenues amounted to PLN 2.66 billion, and expenditures to PLN 2.26 billion. A record amount of PLN 777 million was allocated for investments (capital expenditures) - the highest since 2016. Key projects included, among others, the construction of the Lower Silesian Center for Oncology, Pulmonology and Hematology, the purchase of modern rolling stock for Koleje Dolnośląskie, the construction of new bypasses, including the Góra bypass, and the modernization of infrastructure and revitalization of further railway lines, including the Kobierzyce - Łagiewniki Dzierżoniowskie - Piława Górna and Jelenia Góra - Karpacz sections.
The consistent fight against transport exclusion by restoring inactive railway lines has resulted in the regional government taking over over 20 railway lines from PKP in recent years, and trains have already returned to Bielawa, Chocianów and Świeradów-Zdrój, among others. They will soon return to Karpacz, Przemków and Lwówek Śląski. Through the implementation of this project, tens of thousands of Lower Silesians have gained the possibility of comfortable commuting to work, school and for tourist purposes.
Cooperation with local governments and assistance after the floodThe Board has consistently supported the development of local communities – in 2024, over PLN 110 million was allocated for subsidies for municipalities and counties. Thanks to this, investments were made, including in schools and community centers, sports infrastructure and improving safety, including through subsidies for the purchase of vehicles for the Volunteer Fire Department.
– We show that effective cooperation with local governments and institutions brings real results. Every zloty well spent returns to the residents in the form of modern services, safer roads and better quality of life – emphasizes the Marshal of the Voivodeship Paweł Gancarz.
A test in a crisis situationThe year 2024 also brought difficult challenges - in September, the region faced a flood that caused infrastructure losses estimated at around PLN 500 million. The local government quickly released funds to remove the effects of the element - almost PLN 20 million - and support for local companies, which was used by over 100 companies.
Lower Silesia is developingIn 2024, the Voivodeship Board not only successfully completed current tasks, but also continued long-term projects, such as the revitalization of railway lines, modernization of voivodeship roads, environmental protection and promotion of the region on the national and international stage.
