They destroyed the windows of a tram in Szczecin. They reported it to the police themselves
In mid-May, young vandals broke a window in a tram at the Gocław terminus and damaged another one. The monitoring was secured and the case was reported to the police. On Thursday (5 June), the topic of searching for the perpetrators was made public by the Tramwaje Szczecińskie company. On the same day, two 17-year-olds reported to the police station and admitted to breaking the window.
Let us recall - the surveillance footage showed two abnormally excited teenagers and a girl. One of the boys suddenly jumps up from his seat and tries to break the window pane next to the door with vigorous kicks. The pane holds, so he sits down and after a moment makes another attempt to break the window on the opposite side of the carriage. The other teenager joins in the "fun". They kick alternately. Eventually, the pane falls out. When they realize that their feat is being recorded by the surveillance, they put on their hoods and get off as soon as the tram stops.
A 25-kilogram window fell onto the roadway while a tram was traveling along Światowida Street. The window next to the door did not fall out, but its mounting was damaged.
Tramwaje Szczecińskie estimated the damage at PLN 1,200. The case was referred to the Szczecin-Oder Police Station.
- Based on the collected material, the police have taken steps to identify the perpetrators - the Szczecin police reported on Friday. - Yesterday, two 17-year-old residents of Szczecin reported to the police station and admitted to breaking the window. Both showed remorse and fully admitted to the act they had committed. The teenagers were charged with damaging property in connection with the hooligan act. The case will be referred to court, which will decide on further legal consequences. (K)
