Tragedy at ZEK. A 37-year-old man drowned.

– Information about the incident reached the command post of the State Fire Service in Jarosław at 10:53 a.m. Firefighters from the Radymno Volunteer Fire Department were the first to arrive. They noticed a body floating in the water, located a few meters from the shore. The firefighters pulled the drowned man to shore. At the same time, an ambulance arrived and handed over the body of an unconscious 37-year-old man. The ambulance crew pronounced him dead.

In this case, launching the vessel was unjustified, as it was unnecessary – the body was floating not far from shore. While the man was being examined to determine if he was alive and required resuscitation, firefighters from the Jarosław State Fire Service unit also arrived at the scene.

Senior Brigadier Waldemar Czernysz, MSc. Eng., added that a specialist diving rescue group from Przemyśl was also notified, but was turned away because it was not necessary to take action.

The 37-year-old's body was secured for autopsy.
