Wipler on Supreme Court's decision to recount votes in the election. "Irrelevant"

Przemysław Wipler in "Graffiti"

- It is completely irrelevant, it will not affect the election result - assessed Przemysław Wipler in "Graffiti", referring to the Supreme Court's decision to require a recount of votes in 13 district electoral commissions. The Confederation MP indicated that the difference in the results of the presidential candidates is too large to have a real impact on the final tally.

- The advantage and difference of these three hundred and several dozen votes will not melt away after counting these dozen or so commissions. There are hundreds, even thousands, of such protests after the presidential elections - indicated the Confederation politician.

As he added, irregularities in the presidential elections must be on a large scale for the Supreme Court to decide not to approve the vote count result previously provided by the National Electoral Commission.

Presidential elections 2025. Przemysław Wipler on recounting votes: It doesn't matter

- We know from experience that with such a large number of commissions - because there are about 40 thousand of them in Poland - counting several commissions is as if you counted one several dozen hairs on my head. You can count how many I have, but it won't change whether someone says I'm bald or not. Sir, I'm not bald and it's visible - Przemysław Wipler argued.

The MP was also asked about the idea of Roman Giertych, who put forward a demand for a nationwide recount of votes in the event that it turned out that after the re-adding of the results from 13 district commissions, there were irregularities to the detriment of Rafał Trzaskowski.

- I am convinced that such a practice will not take place. I am convinced that if all votes in Poland were counted, there would be irregularities in both directions, which would balance out - Wipler assessed.

Votes from 13 committees to be recounted

"By its decision of June 11, 2025, the Supreme Court admitted evidence from the inspection of ballot papers from several commissions," the Supreme Court said in a statement issued on Thursday.

The Supreme Court announced that the votes will be counted in the following commissions:

  • District Electoral Commission No. 95 in Krakow,

  • District Electoral Commission No. 35 in Tychy,

The Supreme Court will conduct the resumption in the above-mentioned committees "by way of judicial assistance through the competent district courts".
